Quality Improvement

Continuous quality improvement is fundamental and very important to the oncology medical home.  The cancer care team should be constant and vigilant in monitoring and improving processes and measures.  The goal for the cancer care team is to become the “best” in cancer care and to stay the “best”.  The following are programs and resources that may be helpful in this area:

Ideas for Continuous Quality Improvement

  • Participate and track CQI within ASCO QOPI program
 
  • Internal quarterly quality review audit(s) with associated clinical improvement activities. 
 
  • Participate and track CQI within Meaningful Use
 
  • Track CQI of 5 lowest OMH patient satisfaction question scores.
 
  • Participate in catalog of educational/service improvement training programs (To Be Determined)
 
  • Participate and track CQI through specific Commission on Cancer reporting/benchmarking programs

 

  • Consider a provider bonus or leadership bonus system with a focus on quality metrics and quality improvement.
